The Gotye Video Parody Phenomenon - or... Some Funnies That I Choose to Show

Greetings yet again, my fellow prisoners... first off, my apologies for a pretty long winded hiatus, but I have a pretty good share of reasons for not posting to this blog more often. One of the reasons of course was the monumental undertaking of a site revamp that I had to do for my art site, which you see by clicking here. And the reason why that was such a chore was that I had to rebrand each and every art image to incorporate some additional links to other social media sites... well, that and the fact that I decided to compile the entire catalogues of my art onto my site instead of limiting them to my Facebook page, which you can see by clicking here. But enough about my would be artistic shit show... for I've pretty much had it up to here with "art" and the whole bourgeoisie concept of "the art world" for the privileged elite--- if anything, I'd say that I fail as an artist because I'm a worker at heart; always working on something, even if I'm unemployed, damn it! And that whole Horatio Algers' notion about rising up from poverty to make it somewhere through perseverance is just a practical myth in this day and age, for lack of a better term (i.e. fairy tale, or bedtime story, even!).

Anyways, enough of my ranting, let's get to the raving! A while back I stumbled across this song and I hate to admit that it's pretty catchy, because that would be bending to the will of the powers that be that put it there for all the world to see as a top ten phenomenon. But, oh well--- fame is acceptable to those that go out and get it (at all costs); and since you either get it or you don't, you're simply forced to sit by the sidelines and write endlessly like a raving lunatic (just like I'm doing here). Anyways, the song in question is none other than Someone That I Used to Know by Gotye featuring Kimbra, which you can view immediately right below, followed by a selection of parody videos (which I'm limiting the number of because there are SO MANY OUT THERE that it's not even funny)... but please enjoy, either way!

And if that tune wasn't catchy enough, soon a slew of parody videos followed, which culminated in what I can only call The Gotye Parody Video Phenomenon, or GPVP; for abbreviated medical affliction purposes, only I assure you... If you or your loved one suffers from a song repeating over and over in your head, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT CLICK ON ANY OF THESE VIDEOS!
